Today Chris had the blood filter put in, to prevent clotting, and that procedure went very well. The doctors ordered an MRI today and the results confirmed what the CT scan showed. The most severe damage is localized to the brain stem. The doctors feel that Chris is stable right now, but his condition is still very serious, and currently the doctors aren’t sure how or if he will continue to progress from here. Please continue to keep Chris and his family in your thoughts and prayers, and banners/cards are still available to be signed at the gym and taken to Chris at the hospital. Again we ask that everyone say a prayer for Chris tonight at 8pm EST to be a part of the world wide pRAYer for Chris.
Chris continues to show improvement! Today he looks much better and is being more responsive. The doctors are putting in a blood filter to prevent any clots, and they are also weaning him off of the ventilator. The doctor also says Chris is currently showing signs of brain activity that have not previously been present. This is all great news, and reason for everyone to continue with the prayers because it’s working! Chris’s family is extremely grateful for all of the support they have received up to this point and asks if everyone would please say a prayer tonight at 8pm. Please continue to keep Chris in your thoughts and prayers moving forward. Don’t forget we still have cards and banners at the gym that everyone is welcome to come sign for Chris, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them was read to him today!
Once again, we are closed for all business today (5-13-2013). The announcement of team placements has been postponed indefinitely, but we will be open for tumble classes and high school team practices tomorrow. Please continue to keep coach Chris Gage and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate all of the support for our staff and athletes. We will update everyone as soon as new information is made available to us.
The gym will be closed the rest of the day. Makeups will be scheduled and provided.
