Attention Potential Flyers
Important Tryout and Clinic information below….Please read the following information very carefully.
If you are interested in being evaluated to be a potential flyer please see the information below regarding clinics and tryouts.
Coach Katie, Coach Paige and Coach Cassie will be available in the office for 5 to 10 minutes following each clinic session to answer parent questions regarding flyer tryouts.
First you will be asked if you are interested in being evaluated to be a flyer during your tryout time. If yes, you need to make sure you give your packet to the flyer judge on your floor.
Flyers MAY need to stay a few minutes past their tryout time.
There will be two sequences we ask to see this year on the ground. There are YouTube links to these and the kids will also be taught these during the last part of their clinic session.
Here is the link to the YouTube video of these sequences with the 8 counts to help them practice at home.
Copy and Paste this Link: 2018 Flyer Evaluation Videos
It may take a minute to load, there are 5 videos.
You will also find in this link the proper way to pull and hold the body positions after sequence one and two.
If they are beginner, new to level 1 AND are new tiny or new mini age they MAY be asked to only show individual body positions and/or may be manually stretched to see what kind of flexibility they may have instead of the sequence.
We will instruct them if they will need to show the sequence or not.
Please see the Front, Back, and Side body position videos for more of what we will be looking for.
All potential flyers will be asked to show the two sequences in the videos.
They are labeled sequence 1 and 2.
If we have no questions after they are done with those they will be released to go home.
If we still have questions regarding their potential level or flying skills, we MAY ask to see them fly in a group.
****Please note that not flying or flying on a group does not mean you will be flying on a team nor does it mean you won’t fly on a team. It simply means we still have questions and need to evaluate the athlete further to make the accurate decision on placement and position for that level (base, back, fly).
Not everyone that will fly on a team will fly on a group at tryouts. Not everyone that flies on a group at tryouts will fly on a team.
FAST PASS ATHLETES: When you fast pass you are not guaranteed to keep your “position”. For example, you may fast pass from level one to level one but last year you flew and this coming year you end up basing.
Again, if you have questions regarding this portion of tryouts please see Coach Katie, Coach Paige or Coach Cassie in the front office (5-10min) following the flyer clinics.
